Designing a comprehensive model for the compensation system in the National Southern Oilfields Company; An approach to improving corporate governance
Abstract
The aim of this research was to design a comprehensive model of the compensation system in the National Company for Southern Oil Fields; an approach to improving corporate governance. The research was qualitative with a thematic analysis approach. The participants included managers, human resources experts, and experienced employees in the National Company for Southern Oil Fields and similar large oil companies, who were selected through purposive sampling (19 people). The criterion for completing the interviews was to reach theoretical saturation. The research tool included interviews (semi-structured). The validity of the tool was evaluated and confirmed based on the opinions of experts and agreement between the reviewers. The content analysis method was used to analyze the findings. Based on the extracted conceptual framework, the research model regarding the indicators included 4 axial codes, 10 categories, and 65 primary codes. The results showed that the main axis of the model includes fairness and transparency (the center of the model), the second level includes employee development and performance (in interaction with the main axis), the third level includes benefits and facilities (supporting performance and development), and external factors include global standards and economic conditions (adapting and strengthening the model). These findings provide valuable strategies for human resource managers to develop and improve corporate governance.
